CAMP Closing, Race Dates Moved

Due to personal reasons, it is necessary to close CAMP MX. I have had a good 5 year run as a track owner despite some bumps along the way.

I would like to thank Noah and Sarah, Allen and Jamie McWilliams, Troy Miller, Kris and Billy Faulkner, Joel Jackson, Dennis Aikins, Tom Brinkman and Todd Workman for their help and guidance over the years. I wish each of the guys and gals the best of luck in this economy, its tough.

I also want to thank Bill Manley, Greg Cole and family, yeah that means you too Mason, Joseph Bonecello (JB) of Jb Waste Connection, your my “dawg” lol, Jeff Wainwright, Richard Carter from Powersports Supply, Montgomery Honda Yamaha, Adam’s Motorsports, Pete Winfield of Security Contractors and Lowndes County.

Track crew: All my flaggers, you guys are some of the best in the state, Hugh Gatlin,Scott Crews and family, Kent Jones and Paw paw, Kenny Stinson and family, Mike Blankenship, Marshall, Johnny Wheatley, all of Noah’s flaggers, Allen Bohannon, Tangie Horton, Angie and Reggie Bearden, Josh, the Neighbors at the first CAMP and anybody else I can’t think of.

Lastly, my close friends who have offered those words of advice and support for well over 20 years, Mike Bechard (get ready for #9 again buddy), Chet Pebworth (my second dad and the best 2 stroke mechanic on the planet) and Austin Pebworth (teach me that whip!)

Also my kids, Ashleigh, Austin and Anna. They have patiently sat in bleachers, at home or under Vicki Webber’s, Tom Brinkman’s or Michael Blankenships tent. Well except Anna, who was also assistant track manager and promoter.

Most importantly, I want to thank each and every one of you for your support over the last 5 years. We have laughed together and cried together. These things I will carry with me forever.

I am heart broken in one sense and excited in another as I will have more time to spend with my kids, promote projects and races I have not had the time to do and throw a leg over a bike again. Motocross is a large part of who I am and always will be. I will still be here for CAMS and any other promoter or track owner that needs help, just give me a call. I look forward to the future and seeing you guys at the races from one side of the fence or the other.

I have two races left this year, the September 5th race will be held at Monster Mountain and the October 3rd race will be held at Millcreek. Hope you can join us.

Thanks to everyone who either made or kept this dream alive. It isn’t goodbye, its see you later.

Adam

5th Annual Chase Border’s Benefit MX School Postponed

Due to the health issues I’ve experienced lately, the stifling heat this time of year, and the big things I have planned for CAMP MX, I’ve decided to postpone the 5th Annual Chase Border’s Benefit MX School to a later date when the weather is a little cooler. Once we have the date details nailed down, I’ll post them here. This is a great event that benefits a great family and we look forward to doing it again for the 5th year! So, keep your ears open for the new date!

Thanks,
Adam

Round 9 of CAMS moved to Monster Mountain

This year has definately not gone as planned for me or CAMP. I had fully intended on having many things completed for all of you at the track to give you guys the best that I can on race day. As many of you know, I fell ill at my very first race at the new CAMP track and have struggled with health issues since then. I have been back and forth to doctors and spent time at The Cancer Center in Montgomery. I am awaiting test results for Chronic Leukemia that should be here any day. I am feeling much better, i have returned to light duty working but still have a lil ways to go.

Having said that, there is some work involved in getting CAMP where I would like it to be for racing and with my health not being 100% I feel that it is necessary and in all the riders best interest to move one more race to another facility. This will allow 6 weeks until my next race, that WILL be held at CAMP MX in August, to get healthy and finish a lot of work at CAMP for all of you to enjoy.

I called my friend Tom Brinkman and arranged to have the race at Monster Mountain next week. Tom and his family are very excited to have you guys come see Monster Mountain for yourselves and all the hard work that he has been putting into that facility.

I am not “done” racing and neither is CAMP. I sincerely appologize for having to move these two races but health issues have dictated doing something different. I want to thank each and every one of you who have supported me, my family and all of the CAMS Series over the years.

I look forward to seeing all of you on Saturday night for a great race at Noah’s on the newly lit track, next week at Monster Mountain and back at Millcreek.

August the 7th and 8th we will be back at CAMP and finish all of our races for the remainder of the year there.
Last, I want to thank Noah and Sarah, Allen and Jamie, and Tom and Brenda, and all of you guys for your help, support, prayers, phone calls and words of encouragement. Thanks, Adam.

Round 6 of CAMS moved to Noah’s Moto Park

As most of you know I have been really sick over the last few weeks. I am awaiting blood tests which should give a better insight as to what the problem is. I am feeling better the last few days and am regaining strength. I had lost another 20 lbs in two weeks!

Nonetheless we decided it would be best due to these circumstances to hold the race at Noah’s. Hopefully I will be well enough to be there and hope you all come support the CAMS Series.

Please click here to see the race details on Noah’s site.

Also thank you for your prayers and calls. Hopefully it will not be long before I am back healthy. Adam.

April 25th Race Rescheduled for May 9th

Ok, we have a 70% chance of rain for Saturday and an 80% chance of rain on Saturday night. That does not leave much time for practice on a brand new track for everyone. I have received many phone calls expressing concerns of not being able to practice on the new track, i guess Mother Nature agrees with you guys. From all the factors of rain, lack of practice and being a brand new track, I am making the decision to move the race to May the 9th. Since it is also Mother’s Day, all motocross moms will be allowed in free of charge as thanks for all that you do for your family.

CAMP MX will be open for practice (weather permitting) on Sunday April 25th and again next Saturday. That Sunday we will be closed as I will be in attendance at Noah’s race. We also will have another practice May 8th before the Sunday race. That will hopefully give everyone three opportunities to come ride CAMP and be ready for racing on May the 9th.

Once again I apologize for any inconvenience for anyone, but I just feel looking at the weather and the whole situation, this is the best decision. I know Noah and I received some criticism at his last race by backing it up a day. We were looking at a forecast with a great chance of rain for Sunday which did not happen, but what if we had gotten that rain? We would have been hunting an entire weekend, that is not always an easy thing to do with as much racing that we are blessed with in the state. We try and make decisions for the greater good, weighing in all the factors we have available to us. That’s all we can do.

So, the stage is set for May the 9th for the first race at CAMP MX’s brand new location. Everyone will have opportunities to practice. It’s big, fast and should be a whole lot of fun! We have plenty of grassed parking, good drainage and can’t wait to see you guys. Get ready and lets go racing!

Thanks, Adam
